Run your straddle hands-free — legs, stops and all.

A straddle lives or dies on precise timing and disciplined exits — exactly where manual trading falls apart. Build a fully automated short straddle on Tradetron in minutes, wire trailing stop-loss and exit rules into every leg, and let our AI Strategy Audit match the wired strategy against what you described — before the Go-Live button activates. No silent drops. No code.

Why manual straddles fail

Four failure modes. Every straddle trader knows them.

Multi-leg, premium-driven, time-sensitive — the short straddle punishes hesitation. These are the four mistakes that quietly bleed an otherwise sound edge.

[ 01 ] Slow entries You miss the IV crush window.

You wait for the 9:20 candle, manually pull up two option chains, eyeball the ATM, place the call leg, then the put leg. By the time both are filled, IV has already begun bleeding off — and you've left meaningful premium on the table.

[ 02 ] Legging risk Legs fill at different times — and prices.

Call fills at 9:21:14, put fills at 9:21:48. In those 34 seconds the index moved 15 points. You meant to be delta-neutral; you opened the day with unintended directional bias.

[ 03 ] Emotional exits A screaming move turns you into a discretionary trader.

The short call doubles in twelve minutes. Your stop-loss rule said "exit at 1.5x premium." Your gut says "it'll come back." It usually doesn't. The backtest you trusted was someone who followed the rule.

[ 04 ] Mis-configuration Multi-leg means many ways to get it wrong.

Wrong strike offset. Hedge leg on the wrong expiry. Stop-loss wired to one leg, not the other. Universal Exit forgotten. A short straddle has a dozen surfaces to mis-configure — and you only find out when real money's on the line.

How it works

Four steps.
Then the straddle runs itself.

From payoff sketch to live broker — same pipeline every Tradetron strategy follows. Wired in minutes, not weekends.

  1. [ 01 ]
    Pick the payoff

Short straddle. Long straddle. Strangle. Iron condor.

Open the Options Wizard, pick the payoff you want. The wizard composes the multi-leg order book for you — call leg and put leg at the same strike, same expiry, lot count balanced.

  2. [ 02 ]
    Set strikes, expiries, hedges

ATM or offset. Weekly or monthly. With or without wings.

Choose ATM, ATM±100, or a delta-anchored strike. Pick the expiry — current weekly, next weekly, or monthly. Add hedge legs (an OTM call buy + OTM put buy) to cap tail risk and reduce margin. The wizard wires it all into one strategy.

  3. [ 03 ]
Wire the exits — per leg

Trailing SL. Target. Time-based. Universal Exit.

Per-leg trailing stop-loss in premium terms. Profit target as % of credit collected. Time-based exit at 15:20 to avoid the close-of-day decay trap. Universal Exit so a runaway on one leg pulls the whole position. Every rule lives in the strategy — not in your head.

  4. [ 04 ]
    Backtest, then go live

Replay years. Then run it in your own broker.

Backtest the straddle across years of real F&O data — IV, HV, expiry days, results events, holidays all accounted for. Watch the drawdowns, the worst day, the months that lost money. Tune. Then deploy to Zerodha, Angel One, Upstox or Fyers. Tradetron never custodies your funds.

The straddle-saving feature

AI Strategy Audit — before the Go-Live button activates.

Multi-leg straddles are where silent drops hurt most. A missing SL on the short call. The hedge leg on last month's expiry. A strike offset off by one. The AI Audit reads your wired strategy and matches it, field by field, against what you originally described in plain English — and tells you exactly what's missing, what changed, and what's fine. Catch it here. Not after a 3-sigma move.

What the audit covers

Field-by-field. Plain English. Honest.

  • You said: "Short ATM straddle on NIFTY weekly, 1.5x SL on each leg, exit 15:20." The strategy does: Confirms each clause, or flags the gap.
  • Catches silent drops. Did the AI quietly skip the time-based exit? The audit shows it as a red row before you commit money.
  • Catches mis-wirings. SL wired to entry price instead of premium. Hedge leg on the wrong expiry. The audit names the field and the mismatch.
  • Catches hidden assumptions. Default lot size that didn't match your account. Strike resolution that picked an illiquid strike. Surfaced before, not after.
  • Always advisory. The audit shows you what it sees — you decide whether to fix or override. No black-box gating.
Built-in safeguards

Every guardrail a straddle needs, wired in.

The audit catches the big mistakes before deploy. These guardrails handle everything that can go wrong after.

[ 01 ]
Trailing SL per leg
Independent trailing stop on the call leg and the put leg, in premium points or percentage. When one leg runs, the other stays anchored.
[ 02 ]
Hedge legs & wings
Add OTM call-buy and put-buy wings to convert the naked straddle into an iron fly or condor. Caps tail risk, reduces margin, lets you scale the lot count up.
[ 03 ]
Expiry-day adjustments
Tighter SL on expiry day. Earlier time-based exit. Skip-entry rules for results-day expiries. Wire any day-of-week or day-to-expiry condition into the strategy.
[ 04 ]
Universal Exit
When one leg's SL fires, the other leg's risk profile changes — it's no longer a hedged short, it's a naked option. Universal Exit closes both legs together. Optional, never forced.
[ 05 ]
Drawdown circuit-breaker
Day-level loss limit. If realised plus open PnL crosses your floor, the strategy exits everything and stays out for the day. No revenge trades, no averaging down.
[ 06 ]
Broker-disconnect alert
If your broker's API stops responding mid-trade — token expiry, rate limit, exchange maintenance — you get a WhatsApp ping inside seconds. Not at 15:30 when you check the dashboard.
